For me it is an unknown region. But once you are here, you discover how rich it is and understand why it is a city of such abundance!

How did you imagine Lyon before your arrival?

I had an image of little Paris. I did not expect to make as many discoveries. It's fantastic to see such a rich culture.
Including the marked presence of the Alps. I had not realised how important it was in this region.

What you like in Lyon?

We see that this is a dynamic city which is not only rooted in the past. There are still things that are being built and things to do.
I think when one thinks of France, it is equated with Paris or the south, Provence and the Riviera. For me it is a 'forgotten' region . But once you are here, you understand why it is a city of such abundance.

What did you think of the level of Gastronomy?

What I really liked were the bouchons (traditional restuarants). I discovered that these particular restuarants were started by the "mothers" of Lyon (women head chefs)It was of particular interest to me. I ate really well while I was in Lyon and discovered the simplicity from older chefs and the creativity from the new generation. The mix was really interesting. I found the hospitality wonderful. The presence of people in the restaurant and chefs who go out and talk to their customers make for the exceptional service.
