Charles Loupot, an influential French artist

From the 8th of April to the 28th of August 2016, at Musée de l’Imprimerie et de la Communication graphique

“Charles who?!” we hear you ask. You would be forgiven for not knowing this master of 20th-century poster art.
A little-known, yet extremely talented gentleman, he graduated from the Lyon School of Fine Arts, and was a reference on the Swiss and French Art Déco scenes.

His signature? A minimalist graphic approach that considered the poster to be a decorative object, beyond just its advertising function, in which typography played a key role.

This exhibition is a pleasure to see and may stir up some old memories for some.
